I HC that Levi has the most uncomfortable sleeping position ever. He's stiff as a board, lying straight and face up, not moving one inch through the night and every little sound stirs him awake.

But then he meets you and bro is literally curled up in a ball, literally molded to you, all tucked in cocooned, his blanket covering him from head to toe. He sleeps so well when he's with you, waking him up literally becomes a chore. In modern!au Levi would be obsessed with saving every existing pic of you in his gallery. He has to get his hands on any photo of yours not taken by him. You post a story? Screenshot, with a simple “send me this later.” You snap a selfie of you both with your phone, he instantly asks that you airdrop it. You take a random pic of yourself while checking your mascara, same. Random videos of your outfits to consult with your friends, he wants them too. Your Snapchat notifications are all, “levi replayed your snap. levi saved your snap in chat. levi saved to camera roll.” He just doesn’t want anything to slip from him. Every expression needs to be saved. Every moment and memory and smile and funny face. And he does go back to them too. More often than he would like to admit though. But you caught him more than once.

Levi as a dad would…

Levi would get into arguments with his toddlers in the middle of pretend playing, when the logistics of the storyline stopped making sense. He’d be sitting on the living room floor, holding a plush horse, saying “So now my horse can’t swim across the river that leads to the magical forest? Then why was your horse able to thirty seconds ago?”

Levi would have make believe tea parties with his little ones, and would actually dress up for them (and bring real tea). He’d sit at their small table, formally greet each of the dolls and plush animals at the table, and follow each and every one of the tea party rules.

Levi would always say “I’ll get it” when the babies cried in the middle of the night, before you even had a chance to wake up. He knew that you needed to rest more than he did, and he secretly loved having these quiet moments with his babies, holding them, rocking them, and gazing down at their tiny sleepy faces.

Levi would always be a little bit grossed out by baby food — the colors, the textures, the pureed meats and vegetables. “They actually like this crap? Find that hard to believe,” he’d mutter at the grocery store. He’d sit at the high chair, spoon-feeding your baby, saying things like “This is just vile” and “You’re eating blended meat right now” — all in a soft, cooing tone that made your baby giggle.

Levi, while reading on the couch, would let his little girls put clips and ribbons in his hair and tie it up in any which way they wanted. When they’d say “Daddy, we’re going to use all purple clips this time,” he’d just nod and mumble “Nice” or “Sounds good.” He was only mildly embarrassed the time he accidentally spent the whole day in public with a butterfly clip in his hair.

Levi, if he learned that his kids were being picked on at school, would drill it into their heads to never, ever fight back. He’d help them find other, peaceful ways to deal with the situation because he didn’t want his own children to ever have to resort to violence or know how to fight.

Levi would try, for a while, to keep some semblance of organization and order in your house, despite having rambunctious toddlers. He’d finish putting toys away, only to turn around and see new ones scattered on the ground. He’d give up on this after a while, especially at the sight of his little ones giggling happily as they played with their toys — but his eye would still twitch when he’d step on a plush animal or toy block in the hallway.

Levi, surprisingly, wouldn’t forbid his teenage daughters from dating (as long as he got to meet whoever it is). Really, he’d just be glad that his girls are getting to grow up with a normal life and worry about normal teenager things.

Levi would still curse just as much, even with the little ones around — when you freaked out the first time one of them said “shit” he simply shrugged it off. “What? It’s just a word. They’ll learn it eventually.”

Levi, when his kids eventually began surpassing him in height, would frequently remind them that he was still the one in charge and would gripe about being “stuck in a family full of freakish giants” (average-height people).

Levi, while you were still pregnant, doted on you incessantly — in a Levi way. He’d never let you lift a finger and would frown and grumble if you tried, insisting that even the smallest physical strain is bad for the baby. He’d manage to reach things from the highest shelf for you, despite being shorter. He’d constantly be placing concoctions of herbal teas or odd-looking snacks in front of you, simply saying “Drink that” or “Eat that” after researching what nutrients pregnancy requires.

Levi, as a dad, would really just try his best to give his kids everything that he never had — loving, supportive parents who would protect them at all costs, and a life free of worrying.

Levi isn’t very big on pda. Yes, he loved you to death but that doesn’t mean he wanted everyone to see him in such a vulnerable state. It was reserved for you only.

You never minded since it was really never anyone’s business to begin with besides yours. Levi adored how you didn’t mind keeping your relationship a secret. The only ones who knew were Hange and Erwin, but you both trusted them enough not to tell.

You both would try be careful when you did decide to show small signs of affection outside of your rooms.

One day, a scout happened to enter the ‘empty’ meeting room right as Levi pecked your cheek. Apparently humanity’s strongest soldier couldn’t pull away fast enough before the scout ran off.

Rumors quickly spread around the base about whether your relationship with Levi was true or not.

Lingering eyes followed you both when you strolled down the hallway together. Some of them would even try to sneakily stay in your vicinity to see if it was true.

After a few days, it was all anyone was talking about.

“Maybe we should tell them.” Levi said taking a hold of your hand, thumb brushing over your knuckles.

You raised your interlocked hands to give a kiss on the back of his hand. “It’s up to you, love. I’m comfortable with whatever you choose.”

Honestly his statement surprised you. You didn’t think he’d suggest it in his own. You thought maybe he’d actually stop being affectionate with you completely unless it was behind closed doors.

Slowly, Levi would introduce your usually personal dynamic in public.

Whether it was holding your hand, kissing your cheek, ruffling your hair, hell even a full kiss on the lips if you were lucky enough.

No one would dare talk about it in front of you, though. Of course, that didn’t mean you and Levi didn’t notice the silly uproar when it first occurred. You weren’t stupid.

Pulling you behind a stone pillar, Levi captured your lips with his and his hand went around your waist. He pulled away with a faint smile, but it quickly faded when you both heard shushing and whispers.

“Oh my god, it is true!”

“D-did he just smile?”

“I can’t decide if I wanna be Captain Levi or (Y/n).”

Turning your head, you noticed a small group of scouts trying to hide around the corner.

LOOK, I see it. I get it. Levi definitely has that “rough, naughty, ‘you like that, don’t you?’” kind of sex aura to him. And no complaints here, I’m a complete sucker for that trope. I liveee for it. Like keep it coming!

But I’ve always felt Levi’s character to be more…vanilla, for a lack of better term, than hardcore when it comes to sexual intimacy. Not in the bland way though. Perhaps vanilla with some sprinkles or syrup on the top.

In my opinion, underneath his tough, stern demeanor is someone much softer, much more passionate and gentle in the way he makes love. That he’s the kind to really focus on foreplay, because he really wants you to be aroused and fully pleasured. So I don't know if you already answered something like this but what university major would Levi take in a modern setting?

I see a lot of people putting him in the area of natural sciences, especially biology or biomedicine and also physics and language/English but I'm not sure these are things that Levi would be interested in and just seems like something that would make him "sexy" in some way??? idk.

Ps: I know you mentioned that for you don't know who modern au Levi is because he had a different upbringing but I just imagine he had the same upbringing but in a modern way like instead of the underground he lived in a really poor neighborhood or in my reality in a favela etc. Or I think about isekai Levi after a few years of adaptation and deciding to be a part of this new society.

So instead of listing the careers I see Levi in, I’ll go for the ones I don’t see him in. I’m approaching this from the perspective of university majors—imagining Levi going to university, rather than just thinking about professions he might have.

I completely agree with you. I don’t see Levi in any career involving science, literature, social studies, or anything similar. But I’ll go through each one to explain why.

Social Sciences & Humanities

Law, international relations, political careers in general, or fields related to communication—like literature, English, etc.—all require analyzing society, understanding how countries interact, and improving politics. Like it or not, these fields involve a lot of explaining, debating, and making sense of the world around you. Levi, however, isn’t someone who’s particularly good with words or social interactions. And when it comes to politics—well, all political careers (like law) require a level of what in Spanish we call cintura política (political flexibility). You have to navigate intricate social dynamics and climb the ranks before you’re in a position to make real change. Levi completely lacks that kind of social maneuverability, especially compared to characters like Erwin or Zeke.

Arts

Now, this is coming from someone whose hobbies revolve around the arts—drawing, writing, playing instruments. But to make a career out of art, you need more than just enjoyment. You need the urge to express yourself, to translate emotions into something meaningful, to connect with both your inner self and society through creative work. It’s more than just liking a good book, admiring a painting, or playing an instrument—it’s about a passion for expression. And not once have we seen Levi as someone who craves that kind of self-expression. Sure, he might appreciate a book, a museum, or a record, but art demands a drive beyond simple enjoyment.

Science

And now, my field—science. Studying science means having an intense desire to explain the world, an almost obsessive need to understand how things work, from climate change to cellular biology to the origins of the universe. It’s not just curiosity; it’s a lifelong pursuit of answers. Levi has never expressed that kind of drive. I’m not saying he isn’t curious, but there’s a big difference between “Wow, I didn’t know that” and “I will dedicate my life to understanding this.” Hange and Armin are characters who truly crave knowledge. Meanwhile, in the anime, Levi never even seemed particularly interested in how Titans worked—he just focused on how to kill them.

Careers That Do Fit Levi

Of course, I’m leaving out many careers, but most of them fall under these main categories. Now, if I had to choose university majors that suit Levi, I’d go with either architecture/engineering/accounting or medicine. Here’s why:

Architecture / Engineering / Accounting

We’ve seen multiple times that Levi is good with numbers but bad with people. I can see him choosing a career that provides stability and peace—not necessarily one he’s passionate about, but one that offers financial security, especially if he’s responsible for someone like Isabel. Not everyone picks a career out of love; some do it for survival. Architecture, for example, isn’t just about drawing or design—it’s also about calculus, problem-solving, spatial efficiency, and meticulous attention to detail. My mom’s an architect, and trust me, it’s a lot of math! I could see Levi excelling in something like that, or even civil engineering—maybe helping design blueprints for affordable housing or infrastructure. Accounting is another possibility—numbers, efficiency, and maybe even the eventual goal of running his own tea shop.

Medicine

This one is tricky. Medicine requires a lot of people skills, and Levi… well, he’s not the best with that. But being a doctor also demands altruism, dedication, and a clear head under pressure—all qualities Levi does have. I could see him as a paramedic, someone who works long, grueling shifts but remains calm in life-or-death situations. And let’s be real—Levi already barely sleeps, so night shifts wouldn’t be a problem.

Levi’s Profession in a Modern AU

Now, if you were asking what profession I’d give Levi in a Modern AU, I still feel he’d end up in the military. And let me explain why.

For many young men from tough backgrounds, the military offers structure, a steady income, and a place to go when there are no other options. Military schools are often boarding schools, meaning food, shelter, and education. If Levi had a childhood similar to his underground upbringing, I could see him being forced into a military school due to a criminal record, then making a career out of it—not because he loves it, but because it’s the most viable option. He has the physical skills, the discipline, and the survival instinct. When I was in university, I met plenty of guys from difficult upbringings who joined the military just to get a high school diploma and a paycheck, and some even studied medicine on the side.

If you have a bad dream and you wake up. Levi will wake up too. He will hold you tightly, and talk you through it. He won't pressure you to talk at all. If you just want to be held, he'll hold you. He'll even get you snacks and drinks.

If you have to report someone and give evidence, he will hold your hand and believe you. Levi will always support you and take your side. He will always trust you. He will always support you and hold you when you need it.

When you feel sick physically or mentally, Levi will make sure you feel comforted. He will wrap a soft blanket around you and hold you from behind. He'll whisper words of love to you and remind you how wonderful you are.

He will make a fort for you and put on movies, snacks and he'll also play video games with you. He'll hold you in the fort and make sure you stay positive.

Levi will have a few mental health help tasks in place. So, whenever you say something bad about yourself, he makes you say two good things to counter the one bad thing you say. When you do that he'll call you a good girl.

If you have mental health issues linked to your body and weight, he will help you with that by hyping you up when you wear things. When you go to restaurants, he will look at the menu and read out things to you and not mention calories. He doesn't want you to think about calories and you need to enjoy the food.

If you get anxious in public, he'll make sure to take you places where there aren't a lot of people. If you do go to a place that gets busy, he will keep you close to him and distract you. He will also pull you to quiet spots so you can relax a little.

He'll help wash you in the bath and shower. He'll take his time washing your hair and checking you are okay. He'll give you a little massage too so you can relax a little.

He cooks a few times for you and it's always things that he knows you love a lot. He also surprises you a few times with breakfast in bed. He cuddles up to you and talks with you about plans for the day.

He takes naps with you as well. He will just hold you in bed for a while and give you little kisses now and then. He'll gently rub your back to soothe you.

Levi will learn what your boundaries are and never push you at all. He will are for you and love you every single day.

So, I made these headcanons as a "1 like for one headcanon" thing on another social media so. . . it got a lot of likes- but also turned it into me making a lot of headcanons.

Levi doesn't think he's good at cooking, yet whenever he cooks for you, his food is surprisingly good.

Levi doesn't like public displays of affection but in private he's very touchy and clingy BUT, even in public, he would still try to reach you without the rest of the people to notice, for example, by stroking your thighs or holding your hand under the table.

Levi absolutely loves receiving a "cat treatment". Sleeping in your lap while getting his hair and face stroked.

Whenever you want to talk something serious with him, he feels the need to be touching you to understand you better. So takes your hand, your waist, strokes any other body part or he just keeps you close.

Levi is bad at showing affection through words. Whenever he tries, he blushes and stutters which ends up frustrating him.

Levi often visits Queen's Historia farm orphanage. Besides helping in the early steps of her project, he also has a soft spot for the underground kids. He wasn't precisely nice with them at the beginning, but the kids admired him a lot. After all, he became somewhat a legend from the underground, so then Levi kept trying to make them happy by playing or telling them short stories.

Levi's very observant, that's why he's also very attentive. He would notice if you didn't get enough rest, skipped a meal, or didn't drink enough water, however, he would remind and help you out with all that.

Levi on the early steps of the relationship would complain about your cleaning habits (no matter how good they are) but with time he'll keep himself quiet about it and help you out instead.

Levi would teach you to make the perfect tea to then ask for you to do it instead. Not to boss you around, it’s because he ended up liking it better the way you do it.

Whenever Levi looks at the stars, he remembers Furlan and Isabel, but as the years went by, he also thinks about all his lost comrades, naming every star by their names.

Headpats! He loves giving headpats as a form of affection (that's actually canon). He gives them because Kenny did the same with him whenever he congratulated him (probably after murdering someone but let's pretend it's fluffy and wholesome)

In a modern AU Levi would keep using the "old kind of romance", like, instead of making you a playlist or send you texts, he would make you a mixtape or write you love letters. (And avoid using too much technology, probably he owns a flip phone)

With a taller partner, Levi wouldn't ask for them to reach out things for him, he would just stare at them until they notice.

With a same height/shorter partner he would take the initiative and carry them in his shoulders for them to reach out the stuff.

If you are the one who's having a nightmare he would wrap his arms around your waist, holding you close, big spooning and stroke you until you can calm down. Even if you're feeling better, he'll stay that way.

Levi loves forehead kisses because they remind him of his mom. Bonus points if you also slowly sing him to sleep.

Levi likes to talk in a low volume, so if you didn't hear him, he rather gets close and whisper in your ear instead of yelling.

Levi doesn't consider himself attractive because of his shortness but he's aware of people thinking he is, which also makes him uncomfortable.

Levi doesn't really like to try new things so he always hesitates but if you get to convince him he might change his mind.

Levi has a teacup for each of his closest people that matches their personalities, that way he makes sure no one touches his. If someone dies, he carefully puts them on a shelf on display.

Despite Levi being street smart, there are a lot of things about life on the surface he doesn't know yet, so whenever you teach him something, he gets so excited about it.

Levi usually avoids looking people in the eyes, it makes him nervous, but he would get lost in yours.

Levi on his free time would go to the stables and spend time with the horses. He just likes animals in general.

Levi loves praise and affirmation words. Being raised by Kenny made him to have low self-esteem and the feeling of "never being enough" so yes, keep giving him compliments.

Whenever you drink tea and hold the cup from the handle, Levi looks at it concerned in case it breaks.

Levi enjoys that both of you have independence from each other, but he still enjoys at its fullest every second that you're together.

Levi is selfless, he will always put you first.

When no one is near, Levi would sing while he's cleaning, doing laundry or any house chore.

Levi's trust is fragile. If you betray him, it would be hard for him to forgive you. Don't do it, always be honest with him.

During expeditions Levi would keep around apples or carrots as treats for his horse.

If Levi ever gets some peace, stability and decides to start a family, he would be a girl dad. Adopted or biological, he would love his daughter above all things. He would also be very apprehensive and protective towards her.

Levi thinks pet names are stupid, but still, he can't help to call you "dear", "darling", "love”, “sweetheart" or any classic pet name in private. Still. . . they could also slip out from his mouth in public, making him feel very embarrassed afterwards.

Levi is often seen as "cold and distant”, and he knows that, which also makes him feel sad because he doesn't purposely act that way. Deep inside of him he wishes he was more approachable and nicer.

Levi dislikes cats, mostly because he thinks they're going to leave their loose hair everywhere, BUT once he gets one, he quickly changes his mind at noticing their natural cleaning habits and he gets used to clean the cat's hairs. He enjoys how independent but also loving they are.

Levi likes when you do paperwork together. If he's faster at it, he would sneak a few papers out of your pile, so you have less work and finish sooner.

Whenever you say something dumb, Levi smiles a little and flicks your forehead. . . "Dumbass."

Levi would help you to get on and off the horses or carriages by taking your hand, open the door for you, move your chair for you to sit down or bring you food and medicine while being sick.

Levi suffers insomnia, so he will always be the first one to wake up. He won't disturb your sleep so he'll just stay there admiring your features, occasionally stroking your hair out of your face or, if you’re facing on the opposite direction, he would big spoon you.

Levi is VERY observant so he will notice when you see something you like without saying anything and buy it for you later.

Levi values loyalty and mutual trust, therefore, he would never cheat.

By being raised in the underground, Levi's way of talk is rough, so he often comes across as mean or too straightforward, but he would apologize to you because he doesn't mean to sound that way.

Cat-Dad!Levi Headcanons

this has been in my drafts for 4 months :)

➼ at first, levi would be a hard no against any sort of pet. after all, there were too many variables that could lead to just complete filth and mess spread around the house.

➼ having said that, if you came home one day with a cat in hand, he wouldn't be able to say no. however, he'd actively grumble about how you two have that much more work to do

➼ you'd immediately see him enter caretaker mode. what kind of food do they need to eat? what hygeine processes should you pay attention to? how much physical activity do they need? what extra supplies should you get?

➼ despite him being so reluctant to the idea of pets at first, he becomes the best cat dad. you'd come downstairs, wondering where levi had gone to when you hear a "tch. again?" coming from the kitchen and you find him digging under the oven for a toy that your fur child has shoved underneath the stove for 100th time

➼ he'd negotiate. if he's at his desk working and your cat begins to be relentlessly annoying about sitting on his paperwork or in front of his computer screen, he'd initially be like: "i need to work, little lady. if you stay still for another 30 minutes, i can bribe your mother to allow you to have wet food today. deal?" but it's more likely that he would just give up and your fur baby would be just lounging on his desk and he has to compensate by either getting work done later or using another part of his desk
